Long known as one of our nation’s most diverse liberal arts colleges and as New Jersey’s only
four-year Predominantly Black Institution (PBI), Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and Minority
Serving Institution (MSI), Bloomfield College became a part of Montclair State University in July,
2023, creating Bloomfield College of Montclair State University.

Bloomfield provides a personalized small campus experience tailored to individual student needs with attention from faculty who care, in combination with the benefits and resources of a large doctoral research university.

More than 90 percent of Bloomfield College students come from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, and more than half self-identify as first-generation college students (the first in their families to enroll in college).
