Chamber sets up foundation!

The Suburban Essex Chamber of Commerce, A NJ Nonprofit Corp., 501(c) (6) has recently founded the Suburban Essex Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc. a separate identity under the laws of the State of New Jersey as a 501(c) (3) public charity. The foundation will function with the same bylaws and board members as the chamber of commerce. This was made possible by the generosity and support from Mr. George Celentano, Regional Manager and Senior Vice President from The Provident Bank. The foundation was incorporated to provide assistance to our local businesses for their contributions towards our scholarship program. The foundation is dedicated to provide three scholarships every year that are carefully selected by our scholarship committee. The scholarship recipients must be a graduating senior and reside in the towns that we support; Bloomfield, Belleville and Glen Ridge. The criteria for the scholarships are based on financial need, fall attendance at a college, university, or vocational school, intention to pursue a career that is business oriented and extra-curricular/community activities.
