2008 Business and Scholarship Awards
The Suburban Essex Chamber of Commerce held its annual Business Development and Scholarship Awards ceremony on June 4th at the Chandelier in Belleville. Sponsoring the event was Belleville Motor Lodge, Michael Bush (Bloomfield Agent), Rami Attieh (Bellville Agent) State Farm Insurance and Job Haines Home. Other supporters included Rupp/LPL Financial Services, Sovereign Bank and Valpak of the Garden State. Each year, the chamber acknowledges business that have made major capital investments and improvements to their properties, citing confidence in the local business community. This year’s recipients encompass the Townships of Bloomfield and Belleville and the Borough of Glen Ridge. Recognition awards are given to both members and non-members nominated by the executive board and board of trustees. Business awardees from Bloomfield are American Bank of New Jersey, Bloomfield College (Learning Resource Center), Bloomfield Institute of Physical Occupational Therapy, Broadway performing Arts, Champu Hair Color & Design, Dunkin Donuts, Frankie’s Finish Line II Car Wash, Murdoch Shoes, Pianos Bar & Grill, Quick Chek, Stamna Greek Taverna. The Belleville awardees are Exodus Hair Studio, Inc., Rami Attieh, Agent, State Farm, Stone Horse Taverne & Grille, Signature Fitness, SpinalAid & Rehabilitation Center, Belleville Recreation Center and the Glen Ridge awardees are Fitzgerald’s 1928 Pub, Glen Ridge Public Library and Star Bucks.

This years Gold Sponsors included The Provident Bank and BMW of Bloomfield. The chamber comprises of over 200 member businesses and professionals networking together to nurture and enhance the growth and prosperity of the business community of Bloomfield, Belleville and Glen Ridge.
